Are you one of half of the moms affected by Pinterest stress? I know that I am. I admit it, I am not the best cook, crafter, DIY-er, etc. I don’t have the first clue how to sew and I am definitely NOT a fashionista or expert home decorator. I love my husband and my kids, but there simply are not enough hours in the day to do all of the things that Pinterest says I should.

Oh, and when it comes to birthday parties, I still just invite friends to the house, pull out the slow cookers, and enjoy a day eating and watching the kids play together. I buy a cake at the store, and I don’t even get balloons, let alone craft a whole theme with appropriate decor, favors, costumes and activities.

That being said, I still spend too much time on Pinterest.

Both my husband and I have pinned recipes; crafts for the kids; cleaning tips; ideas for gardening, home decorating; and tons of other things. However, of these hundreds of pins, we’ve hardly done any of them.

I simply can’t waste time on Pinterest if I am not even going to try out any of these great recipes and ideas. So, this summer, my family is doing a Pinterest challenge. Each week, we will pick one recipe and one other type of pin (cleaning, craft, etc.) and try it out.

The pins that we have picked for June are:

Are you a Pinterest addict? Do you actually do anything you pin? What are your favorite pins?

Share your Pinterest stories below, or join us on our summer project and share what you are trying as we go.

That is a great idea. Pinterest just makes me want to eat a lot after looking at all of the recipes.

I LOVE Pinterest! I get so many ideas— and yes, I do try some of them. I’ve tried some recipes, DIY projects and get lots of travel ideas. I admit, that’s what does me in. I want to travel to all the cool places I see. I have to be very careful not to get sucked into Pinterest. I could literally spend days browsing.

Sounds like a great plan to me. I usually end up trying most recipes I pin. I’m not so great with the other stuff, though. I’m beginning to think it’s really not worth all the decorating and crafting for parties. The kids just like to play. They don’t care!

I am going to try the egg rolls, you have taken some of the mystery (and frying) out of it. I have done many of the Pinterest projects I have pinned and have stopped looking for new ones until I complete more of the old. I even put them on my to do list.
